iX's The World Behind Her Eyes is intimate and vast at once
A 30-second short by iX that cuts close-ups of a blindfolded girl against huge wide shots, made on Higgsfield with Seedance 2.5. The maker describes a role as a Higgsfield evangelist, so read it as a showcase for that platform too.
What stopped me in this 30-second short by iX is the contrast. The World Behind Her Eyes puts close-ups of a blindfolded girl right next to wide shots of a huge world: a long column of hooded figures winding along a stone road through the mist, and a sky that splits open with light above a ring of jagged spires.
That swing between the two is what makes it for me. It feels intimate and unimaginably vast at the same time, quiet and personal while also being part of something much bigger.
The character consistency is flawless, and so is the skin tone, from the first close-up to the last. The audio track carries that consistency from beginning to end as well: low chanting, ominous music and three spoken lines, ending on "Then why can I see?"
There are layers of intrigue here, and I keep going back to it. It stays true to the recent run of dark, dystopian shorts iX has been posting, each one 30 seconds long and each made on Higgsfield with Seedance 2.5. Three of them went up on 24 Oct alone.
