Pika partners with OpenAI to put its whole creative studio inside ChatGPT: a plugin extension with a side panel, 40+ tools and 100+ models
Pika's tools now run inside ChatGPT, but every generation still spends Pika credits and saves to your Pika library, and the terms of the OpenAI partnership Pika announced are not public.
Pika put its whole studio inside ChatGPT on Thursday. Install the Pika plugin and you can ask for a product ad, a new camera move or a character sheet in the chat, then work on it in a side panel, down to an editing timeline, without opening Pika's own app.
Read the small print and the money still runs through Pika. Every generation spends your Pika credits, the plugin shows an estimated cost before it makes anything, and everything you make in ChatGPT is saved back to your Pika library. Pika is adding 250 credits after your first generation in the chat to get people started.
Pika calls it a partnership with OpenAI. OpenAI's own post that day was about better plugin use in its top ChatGPT tier, and it did not name Pika, and the terms of any deal are not public. Runway already sells through the same door, with purchases made on its own site, so ChatGPT is turning into a front desk where video tools compete to be the one you install.
The numbers are loose in places, too: Pika's plugin page says 55+ models in one place and over 100 in another, and there are no usage figures yet.
In practice, try one ad or edit in the chat, check the cost it shows first, and keep your files in Pika, because that is where your work and your bill live.
