Runway launches Runway Ads
Runway Ads generates, publishes and re-briefs paid video ads on Meta, Google and TikTok. Every result Runway cites comes from its own ad account, nothing is independently audited, and there is no public price.
Runway now wants to make your ads, not just the footage in them. Runway Ads, announced on 30 September at the company's first AI Summit in San Francisco, connects to a brand's Meta, Google and TikTok accounts, generates video and image variants from a brand kit, publishes the approved ones and reads the results back to brief the next round.
The evidence so far is Runway's own ad account. Since July, the company says, its weekly ad volume went from 77 to roughly 900, return on ad spend doubled, conversion rose about 34% and cost per subscriber fell 41%. Click-through rate held steady, which points to more testing finding more winners rather than any single ad getting more clickable. None of it is independently audited, and the only other company named so far is launch partner Lovable, per Adweek.
Human approval is on by default, and teams can switch to automatic publishing campaign by campaign. Runway has not published a price and is piloting with select enterprise partners.
In practice, the variant work that freelancers and agencies bill for (resizes, hook swaps, localized versions) is exactly what this agent is built to absorb. The original concept and the judgment on which version carries the brand are still human jobs.
