The Generated Radar Week 43: five stories in generative film
Five stories from Week 43, from a single-render dance clip to The Arc's $38,000 AI credit bill. The Arc figure is Artlist's own credit valuation with no crew costs, and fal's speed claim is its own test.
Five stories from this week in generative film, in running order, with the biggest last.
01 Creator spotlight: Dheepan Ratnam's 30-second classical Indian dance keeps one spotlight, one costume and one face consistent across about 17 cuts, all from a single Seedance 2.5 generation. 02 New tool: fal and Black Forest Labs released FLUX 3 Max on October 19, and fal says a 10-second 720p clip comes back in about 12 seconds, though that is its own test. 03 Studio move: ByteDance's Volcano Engine will pay up to 200,000 yuan for Seedance dramas that reach the monthly top 50 on its Hongguo app, half in cash and half in credits. 04 Legal and policy: Japan's voice actors' union published the country's first consent rules for AI voices, and Masako Nozawa, the voice of Goku, already licenses an AI version of her voice through her agency. 05 Big story: The makers of The Arc, Artlist's five-episode AI series, told Business Insider it took about $38,000 in AI credits, roughly $460 of credit value per finished minute before any crew day rates.
