Kavan the Kid's Chronicles of Bone is fantasy TV that stands tall against the studios
Kavan the Kid's The Chronicles of Bone returns with a 24-minute Chapter Six that works even as a first episode, with rich characters, blockbuster fights and a world built from his own masks and costumes. The series is a Magnific Original made with hosted models including Seedance and Nano Banana, and its 12 episodes have 40.9 million YouTube views.

Chapter Six opens on cracked ice and then finds The Collector, a man with a bandaged face, a wide-brimmed hat and a mustard coat, staring across a frozen sea toward the Northern Realm. Over the next 24 minutes the episode moves through a fortress built into a waterfall, a banquet ends in a poisoning, a masked sword fight plays out on a snowbound battlement, and a torch-lit search ends with a fight against a pale clay creature in a flooded hall.
This is "The Ghost of the Dawn Spawn", Chapter Six of season one of The Chronicles of Bone, posted to YouTube and X on Tuesday, 6 October. Its maker is Kavan Cardoza, who works as Kavan the Kid (@Kavanthekid) and co-founded the Los Angeles studio Phantom X. The series is a Magnific Original, co-produced with Magnific, the creative AI platform that was called Freepik until April. His logline sends The Collector north to save his wife from the Mordane Empire while a witch tells the people waiting for him that he is not coming for them.
A world you can walk into at Chapter Six
Our verdict is simple: this is haunting, captivating, deep and expansive work, and it builds a world that can rival any series or film a major studio has put out. Chapter Six was our first encounter with the show, which is the hardest test a serial can face, and it did not need the five installments before it. It will not be our last. The mise-en-scène does the explaining, with snow on the stone, candlelight on the banquet table and costumes that tell you who rules and who serves before anyone speaks.
The characters are rich and intriguing, the dialogue is well scripted, and the action plays like a blockbuster, with fights that have weight and geography rather than a blur of cuts. You can barely tell it is AI. Faces hold from shot to shot, and across the frames we sampled we found no obvious generation glitches. It is genuinely difficult to fault, and it is seriously high-quality IP that would stand tall against most of the studio-backed content pushed onto streaming platforms.
The audience is already there
X is the side door for this show, where Kavan has about 13,000 followers. The front door is YouTube, where his channel has 1.28 million subscribers. The 12 episodes of The Chronicles of Bone had 40.9 million views between them on Wednesday morning, according to the YouTube Data API, and Chapter Six alone passed 182,000 views and 590 comments in its first 19 hours. Every chapter from One to Five has cleared 3 million, and the peak, Prologue Five, sits at 7.7 million.

The rhythm is as important as the reach. Since February a new episode has landed roughly once a month, usually on the first Tuesday, and the episodes have grown from a 93-second first prologue in November 2025 to chapters of 20 to 28 minutes. Kavan told Bypass Hollywood that season one runs through November and season two starts in January 2027, which is his own schedule rather than an announced commission.
How one filmmaker builds it
The post says Chapter Six was "created entirely with the tools inside @magnific", and that is true as a statement about the platform. Magnific is an aggregator that hosts other companies' models, and the ones Kavan has named for the series are Nano Banana 2 for characters and Seedance 2 for shots, with Google's Veo in earlier work. He told the Los Angeles Times in July that he had become "completely dependent on Seedance" for character consistency. He has not said which models made this episode, or which tools produced the voices and music.
The part worth stealing starts before any model runs. "I design characters first using real-world elements. Costumes I own. Masks I've worn," he told Bypass Hollywood, describing how he photographs himself or reference models and iterates until the character is right. Then he builds every angle of each character and every wall of each location, "so I can move the camera freely like a real set." The Captain Nemo mask, he wrote on X in August, is a real mask.
In practice, for anyone making work this week, that is the lesson in the frames: a physical reference and a fully mapped set are why The Collector looks like the same man in the snow, at the banquet and in the flooded hall. A schedule is the other lesson, because a monthly drop has given Kavan an audience that comes back for the next chapter, the way television audiences do.
Built to be owned
The world is a remix with a rule. Peter Pan, Robin Hood, King Arthur, Captain Nemo and Dracula's line all appear in some form, with Frankenstein's creature reimagined as The Collector, and Kavan's stated principle is that "everything has to be radically transformed from its original public domain source so it can be protected." The Los Angeles Times reported that he has registered his script and characters, and he has warned fans that official episodes appear only on his own YouTube channel after copycat and pirated uploads appeared.
The next chapter is due in November if the monthly schedule holds, and Chapter Six is a fine place to start. Watch it on Kavan's YouTube channel, then go back to Prologue One and see how far one filmmaker has carried this world in eleven months.

Your Voice
Absolutely epic. @Kavanthekid is a master of creating such a large sense of scale. The battles are especially cool in this series too.
Awesome! The creature at the end is giving "we have clayface at home" and I love it! I am obsessed with your series.
Further fantastic work by @Kavanthekid, Great job Kavan
