Malfoid drags Harry Potter out of the wizarding world and into the dojo
In Malfoid's Diary Ep. 2, nachos2d (@NACHOS2D_) puts Harry Potter in a karate dojo with Malfoid, the fan-made female Draco Malfoy, for 30 seconds of Pokémon-era impacts and cutaways in Japanese with English subtitles. It is a craft pick that ran below his usual reach, and it is an unofficial fan work.

A blonde girl in a white karate gi smirks at the camera and tells us, in Japanese, that she was the strongest fighter in her dojo. To prove it, the film cuts to a flashback of her throwing a bald, red-belted sensei straight up through the roof, leaving a tiny figure in a hole of blue sky. Then she flashes a peace sign against a pink sparkle background, ponytail flying, while a row of dazed classmates looks on. Only after all that does she turn to her sparring partner, a boy in round glasses and a plain white tee, and say: "Now, come at me, Potter."
This is the second episode of "Malfoid's Diary", a 30-second anime comedy posted on X on Tuesday 13 October by nachos2d (@NACHOS2D_), an AI animator with about 37,500 followers. It is an impressively consistent and surprisingly funny short that takes Harry Potter out of the wizarding world and drops him in a karate dojo, where things go badly for him in the best possible way.
Who Malfoid is
The star of the show is not Harry. Malfoid is a fan-made, gender-swapped Draco Malfoy who appears nowhere in the books, the films or HBO's series, and she has been all over X since an illustration by @redteneri on 22 September set off a wave of fan art, copycat posts and animation. The name fuses Malfoy with "foid", a slur for women that comes out of incel forums, which is worth knowing before you go digging through the trend. The clip itself is clean, and honestly rather sweet.
nachos2d has leaned into the trend hard. Before October he made short anime comedies with his own recurring casts, then moved on to characters from the game Zenless Zone Zero, and from 10 October he posted ten Malfoid clips in four days. Episode 2 is written as a diary entry, and the caption carries the joke: "Dear diary, every time I hit him, a little heart came out of his mouth. I'm choosing to think that means something."
Pokémon in the dojo
The fight is where the fun lives. Malfoid coaches Harry through his stance ("Keep your elbow in. Turn from the hips. Yes, good.") and then throws a kick that sends a burst of dust across the floor. A small heart pops out of Harry's mouth, then a big pink one, and the frame flashes white. She panics, blushing and teary against animated speed lines, and rushes toward him past the black belt that has slipped off onto the floor. One dust explosion later Harry is airborne and she is face down on the boards, and the episode closes on a chibi close-up of her crying fountain tears and blaming "this stupid belt" for everything.
The fight mechanics feel almost transplanted out of the Pokémon TV anime of the late '90s and early 2000s, the show that premiered in Japan in April 1997 and reached US screens in September 1998, right down to the exaggerated impacts and the cutaways. There are four separate cutaway looks in 30 seconds, from the sunlit flashback and the pink sparkle to a blue gloom backdrop for Harry's nervous "O-okay" and the chibi tears at the end. This is anime at its core, and the spoken Japanese dialogue with burned-in English subtitles only underlines it.
The character moves are clean and impressive throughout. Malfoid keeps her long blonde hair, green eyes and gi from close-up to wide shot to chibi, Harry keeps his round glasses, white tee and green shorts, and the dojo's paper screens and stacked red mats hold their place across every angle. On top of all that, the FX track is flawless.
A craft pick, not a breakout
This is not the most-watched thing nachos2d has posted. Episode 2 drew about 12,300 impressions on X by Wednesday morning, below his median of around 30,500 across 28 video posts since July, while his other Malfoid clips from 12 and 13 October reached between 84,000 and 105,000 each. Likes and bookmarks ran healthy for its size, and the replies are fans riffing on the joke rather than the usual round of AI-creator back-patting. We picked it for the craft, and it is incredible fun.
The post doesn't name the tools behind it. His X bio lists him as a creator partner with several AI platforms, but nothing on this clip is labeled as sponsored, and we are not going to guess at the model.
In practice, for anyone making work this week, the lesson is how much a trend rewards a format. nachos2d took a character the whole timeline was already drawing, gave her a diary, a dojo and a running gag, and built each episode to land inside 30 seconds. Anyone with a sharp comic idea can borrow that template, as long as the gags carry the piece the way they do here.

Your Voice
When will a huge studio in Japan be contacting JK Rowling over the rights to make a Malfoid Alternate Universe Adaptation of Harry Potter?
This feels like the anime "Love After World Domination", and now I can't get that out of my head for Malfoid and Harry.
I want a whole Harry Potter series in this anime style instead of live action.
Started reading Harry Potter, and by the time I got to page 24 I was already begging Malfoid to save him from the Dursley’s.
