Krea opens the Krea 3 beta, and a 2K edit lists at $0.13, not $0.06

Krea 3 is live in beta with fast draw-a-box edits, but its $0.06 price leaves out the frame you edit, so a real 2K edit lists at $0.13, and its 8-second speed is labeled illustrative.

Krea opened the beta of Krea 3, its own image-editing model, on Thursday, and it is live in the Krea app on every plan, including Free. The pitch is speed and control: draw a box around part of a frame, say what changes, and the model redraws inside the box while the rest of the picture stays as it was.

The numbers need a closer read. The $0.06 headline price is for a 2K image with nothing to edit, but an edit always starts from a picture, and Krea's own developer price list charges $0.07 for a 2K source frame. So a 2K edit of a 2K frame lists at $0.13. The "under 8 seconds" is described on Krea's product page as an "illustrative playback time", while the rival times beside it were measured on Krea's own queue. The claim that it matches Nano Banana Pro or GPT Image 2.5 appears only in the launch post on X, and no independent benchmark exists yet.

Some of the launch buzz was paid for, too. LuminaBench says its write-up was sponsored, and Min Choi's demo carries X's Paid partnership label.

In practice, Krea 3 is worth a test for look development and keyframes, because an edit that comes back in seconds changes how many versions a solo maker can afford to try. Plan on $0.13 a frame, and run six edits on one of your own frames before you build a scene on it. Krea says the final release and more benchmarks arrive the week of Oct 19.

Luma's Shot Coverage turns one take into new angles. Seedance does the shooting

Luma's Shot Coverage turns one short take into performance-led, action-led and spatial-led angles an editor can cut with. Its own product page says Seedance does the work, inserts hold up better than close-ups on a pause, the dialogue returns in a new voice, and the cost is unpublished.

Side-by-side frames from Luma's Shot Coverage demo: a bartender and a woman in a burgundy dress at a lamp-lit saloon bar, and the same scene re-angled as a wide shot down the bar

A bartender in a waistcoat pours whiskey for a woman in a burgundy velvet dress, and the camera never moves. Then the same pour comes back as a tight insert of the bottle and glass, the same room comes back as a wide shot down the length of the bar, and the woman comes back in a close-up as she drinks. That 10-second clip is how Luma introduced Shot Coverage on Thursday 15 October, with a line any editor will recognize: "Got the take. Need another angle?"

Coverage is a film word, and Luma used it on purpose. On a set, coverage means the wides, mediums, close-ups and reverses that give an editor somewhere to cut. A single good take with no coverage leaves a scene stuck in one frame. Luma's pitch is that you upload that one take and get the missing angles back, but the product page shows the engine underneath belongs to someone else.
