Kōda: This blend animates really well

Kōda's 29-second cyberpunk anime short pits a cyborg heroine against a monster at a giant portal, made with Seedance 2.5 and impact frames from GPT-6 Astra. The look starts from Kōda's own Midjourney v8.2 style blend; the tools are only those named in the maker's posts.

What is better than cyberpunk anime? Cyberpunk anime with an interdimensional portal-defense battle, a white-haired cyborg heroine and clear nods to Ghost in the Shell. Kōda's new 29-second short sends her into a fight with a tentacled monster at a giant ring-shaped portal, and the camera angles move to match the speed of the battle, swinging in close for the blows and pulling wide for the standoff.

Epic sound design tops off the whole fast-moving short. The monster face-off would feel at home in a great many cyberpunk series, and the almost cel-shaded look makes it feel like pages torn straight out of a manga and brought to life.

Kōda created it with Seedance 2.5, then added impact frames (the single flash frames anime uses to sell a hit) with GPT-6 Astra, as named in the original post. The look starts from a Midjourney v8.2 style blend Kōda shared the same morning. It is today's Video of the Day on our website, and if you have made something like it, tag us.

Pierrick Chevallier brings a K-pop magazine cover to life with MiniMax H3

French VFX artist Pierrick Chevallier fed two K-pop magazine covers into MiniMax H3 and got 15 seconds of type sweeping in front of, behind and around the models, with sound that hits every cut. He has not shared his prompt or said whether the audio is native, and H3's open weights exclude the US and UK.

Two black-and-white K-pop magazine covers side by side, a dark-haired model in a black crop top and a platinum-haired model in white, surrounded by large display type

A black-and-white magazine cover snaps into place. "K-POP ICON DUO" runs down the right edge, a woman with a dark bob stands in a black crop top and leather jacket, and then the type starts to move. Giant letterforms sweep across the frame in front of her, a white flash wipes the page, and a second cover builds itself around a model with a platinum ponytail, an oversized serif S rising behind her in silhouette before every word locks back into the layout.

It lasts 15 seconds. Pierrick Chevallier (@CharaspowerAI), a French VFX artist with about 54,500 followers on X, posted it on Thursday 8 October with one tool in the caption: "Minimax H3 is honestly ridiculous for motion design when the source image already includes typography." It is a stunning bit of motion design, and it feels like the cover and hero spread of a fashion magazine have been brought to life.
